I love Tokyo. If I had to eat only in one city for the rest of my life, Tokyo would be it. Most chefs I know would agree with me.
For those with restless, curious minds, fascinated by layer upon layer of things, flavors, tastes and customs, which we will never fully be able to understand,…
I just woke up from a dream that was so real that I wanted to cry.
I was at a hotel with my mom, best friend, and sister. We were there for a TV and film festival, apparently. Eddie McClintock was to be there, which explains why we were there. We were sitting in our seats way towards the back, and the event was about to start, so I went to use the bathroom. I get up and walk out the door, and Eddie is hanging out waiting to come out. He’s there with Aaron Ashmore and Saul Rubinek. I, of course, saw them, but didn’t want to be a bother. All of a sudden, Eddie sees me walking by, and he calls over to me. I stop and turn around, and I walk over. He gives me a hug and thanks me for being there. I tell him I’m with family and a friend. Then, they get their cue to walk out, and Eddie takes me by the hand and says, “You’re coming with us.” I just remember feeling like I was floating; I was so amazed. I walk out, and the room is dark, aside from light on the stage. Everyone’s cheering, and we walk by my group. I’m like, “I’m going with them.” And throw my stuff inn my chair. Aaron and Saul walk on stage, and Eddie and I stop almost there and sit on 2 stools. He motions for me to sit down, and that we’d be talking. There are cool graphics on the screen introducing each of them, and Eddie makes comments to Aaron and Saul. Anyone that has seen Eddie at a Con knows how he runs around a lot. They were trying to get everything set up, so he was talking to people from the stools. At some point, he looks over at me and says, “We’re going up there. I want you to talk.” I was flustered, but went with him. I climb the steps, hand and hand with Eddie, and he tells me to stand in a certain place near some speakers and mics. I make sure I’m in the right place, and just stand there. The three of them talk, and then Eddie gestures to me. He says that they’re thankful for fans like me that are passionate. He asks me to say some words. At this point, Saul’s to my left, Eddie’s to my right, and Aaron’s right next to Eddie. I say what they’ve meant to me. I start saying that I’m lucky to have met Eddie years back and that he’s been a life-changer. I vividly remember saying at one point, gesturing to Eddie, “…and, Eddie, you have the biggest heart of anyone I’ve ever met.” I was tearing up, and so was he. I finish talking, Saul gives me a big hug, followed by Aaron and Eddie. They talk to the crowd some more, and then Eddie takes my hand to leave the stage. We get outside and say some words and hug, and then I go back in to watch. Later, I feel like I’m walking on air. My mom, sister, and best friend keep saying they can’t believe it happened, and I’m in shock, too.
For anyone that’s met Eddie, you know he’s capable of doing something this kind. He’s amazing, and he really DOES have a big heart. This dream made me wish I was going to something soon so I could see him again.
